American Indian and Alaska Native adults are almost 3 time more likely to have type 2 diabetes, according to the CDC.

People with diabetes can experience complications including heart disease and stroke, blindness, chronic kidney disease and amputations. But people with diabetes, working with their support team and health care providers, can take steps to control the disease and lower the risk of complications.
