Dave McLeod, SUDP
Provider Details
Education and Experience:
Associate in Technical Arts (ATA) from Tacoma Community College. I have been in the field of substance use disorder counseling in various positions for more than 31 years.
Methods of Counseling:
I truly believe it is my responsibility to help to build people up. It is also my responsibility to provide tools to help a person accept their addiction and, most importantly, recover from that addiction with hard work, determination, faith and resilience. I do my best to always be present with the patient in the here and now and practice active listening. I am very much strength based and do everything I can to focus on solutions rather than problems and positives rather than negatives.
Hobbies and Interests:
The most important thing to me is spending time with my family and my friends. We love to play board games, card games and just being around one another sharing experience, strength and hope. Laughter is healing and we do as much of this as possible. I also love to watch sports of all kinds both in person and on TV, especially college and high school sports.
