Levels of Care
We Have Three Levels of Care for Patients
-
Direct Care
Consists of healthcare services provided at Puyallup Tribal Health Authority.
-
Purchased Referred Care
Purchased Referred Care (PRC) is a benefit for patients that provides funding for referred medical services not available at PTHA. Click here for more information.
-
Referred Services
Funded by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, enrolled Puyallup Tribal Members and spouses enrolled in a Federally recognized tribe, are eligible to receive health care coverage that is not otherwise provided at PTHA or covered under Purchased Referred Care or IHS funds. Click here for more information.
All PTHA patients must update eligibility annually, or as often as there is a change in circumstances, which includes applying for alternate resources such as Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance.
Applying for Alternate Resources
Indian Health Service only provides funding for a portion of our Tribal health needs, which is why using alternate resources is so important. With PTHA’s commitment to providing high quality care, we depend on more than IHS funding to fully succeed in our mission. Every time you use your insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or other benefits, you help us strengthen and expand health care services for our people for generations to come.
PTHA’s Patient Benefit Coordinators are available to assist patients with their eligibility in programs such as Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. They can assist in the entire enrollment and renewal process for health insurance programs.
